Booking and delivery
How do I get a quote for a porta potty?
Call (254) 218-1030 or send the six-field form with your ZIP, dates, unit type, number of units and headcount. Dispatch gives one itemized total on the call, or texts it within 1 business hour.
What information do you need to book?
We need the delivery address, delivery and pickup dates, unit type and count, a contact phone, and any gate code or placement notes. Event bookings also need the guest count and event hours.
How far ahead should I book?
Book 1 week ahead for most events and 2 to 4 weeks ahead for spring and fall weekends or restroom trailers. Job-site units can usually go out the next business day.
Can I get a porta potty tomorrow?
Next-day delivery is standard across Temple and nearby towns with no rush fee when you book by end of business today.
What time of day do you deliver?
Drivers deliver between 7 AM and 6 PM, Monday through Friday. You can ask for a morning or afternoon window, and the driver texts when on the way.
Can you deliver a porta potty on Sunday?
Sunday events are delivered on Friday and picked up on Monday. The extra days are included in the event price.
Can you deliver to a rural address or ranch outside town?
We deliver to ranches and rural addresses around Temple. Send a map pin or gate directions, and tell us about cattle guards, low-water crossings or soft roads.
Can I book for someone else, like my church or employer?
You can book for a church, school or company. Give us the on-site contact name and number for delivery questions, and the billing contact for the invoice.
Can you text me the quote?
We text or email every quote with each line item listed, so you can share it with a spouse, pastor or project manager before booking.
Pricing and billing
What is the cheapest porta potty rental option?
A standard porta potty is the lowest-cost unit. For events it starts at $165 in Temple with delivery and pickup included. For job sites it starts at $145 per 28-day cycle plus a $65 delivery and pickup fee.
Why is construction billed every 28 days?
A 28-day cycle lines up exactly with 4 weekly service visits. Every cycle gets the same number of pump-outs, so the price stays the same month to month.
Does a yearly contract cost less per month?
Long-term contracts of 6 or 12 months can lower the per-cycle rate on multi-unit accounts. Ask dispatch for a written contract quote.
Is there a weekly rate for a 2-week job?
A 2-week job is billed as one 28-day cycle, with unused days prorated when you call for pickup early. That is often less than two separate weekly charges.
Is there a discount for multiple units?
Several units on one delivery share the delivery and travel charge, which lowers the cost per unit. Accounts with 5 or more units on rent can ask for a volume rate.
When do I pay?
Event rentals are paid when you book. Job-site rentals are paid per 28-day cycle, in advance. Approved contractors can pay by invoice.
What payment methods do you take?
We take Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and debit cards, plus checks and ACH for approved accounts.
How much is the same-day rush fee?
The same-day rush fee is $75 per order, for one unit or several on the same stop. It applies only when the unit is delivered the same day you call.
Will I be charged if the unit is tipped over?
Wind or a passing vehicle can tip a unit. We clean up and reset it. Damage from vandalism, fire or misuse is billed under our rental terms.
Units and equipment
What is the difference between a porta potty and a porta john?
Porta potty, porta john, portable toilet and portable restroom all mean the same unit: a single-user toilet with a holding tank. The name changes by region, not the equipment.
How big is a standard porta potty?
Our standard unit, the PolyJohn PJN3, is 43.5 inches wide, 47 inches deep and 91 inches tall, with a 60-gallon tank.
Do your porta potties have lights?
Standard and deluxe units have translucent roofs that let in daylight. For night events, restroom trailers have built-in lights, or you can hang a battery lantern inside a porta potty.
Do any units have air conditioning?
Restroom trailers have air conditioning or fans when plugged into a 110-volt outlet. Porta potties have roof vents but no power.
Do porta potties have a urinal?
Standard units have a urinal on the side wall in addition to the seat. Deluxe units have the seat, flush and sink.
Can a porta potty be locked?
Every unit has an inside door latch with an occupied sign. For job sites after hours, we can fit a padlock hasp; you keep the key and leave a copy for service day.
Do you have pink porta potties?
Pink units are available for some events, such as showers and fundraisers, when booked about a week ahead. Blue and gray are standard. Color does not change the price.
Do you rent porta potties on trailers?
We have towable porta potty trailers for job sites that move, such as road and pipeline crews. Ask dispatch for availability.
Cleaning and servicing
What does a service visit include?
A service visit includes pumping the holding tank, washing the seat, walls and floor, recharging the deodorizing blue liquid and restocking toilet paper and sanitizer.
Will the porta potty smell?
A serviced unit smells far less than people expect. Odor rises when the tank fills or in hot weather. Weekly service and a shaded spot keep odor down, and a second weekly visit helps in July and August.
What if the unit fills before service day?
Call or text dispatch. An extra pump-out is usually done the same or next business day for $45 per unit.
Is the unit clean when it is delivered?
Every unit leaves the yard pumped, washed, deodorized and stocked with paper and sanitizer.
Who supplies toilet paper?
We supply toilet paper and sanitizer with every delivery and service visit. Extra rolls can be left on site at no charge.
Events and weddings
How many porta potties for 100 people?
100 people need 2 standard porta potties for a 4-hour event, or 3 if alcohol is served. Events of 6 hours need 3 units, or 4 with alcohol.
How many porta potties for 200 guests?
200 guests need 4 standard porta potties for 4 hours, or 5 with alcohol. Add 1 wheelchair-accessible unit for public events and 1 hand-wash station if food is served.
Do I need a porta potty for a backyard party?
A porta potty helps when you expect 30 or more guests, the party runs over 3 hours, or you want to keep guests out of the house. One unit covers about 50 guests for 4 hours.
Can the porta potty be delivered the morning of the event?
Weekend events are set on Friday so the unit is ready early. Weekday events can be delivered the morning of when the address is on an early route.
Can I rent a porta potty for a funeral or graveside service?
Units can be set at family land, churches and cemeteries that allow them. Tell dispatch the time of the service so the unit is placed early and out of sight of the gathering.
Should men's and women's units be separate?
Separate signs help at events over 200 guests. Put urinal-equipped standard units on the men's side and deluxe units on the women's side to shorten the longest line.
Construction and job sites
Is a porta potty required on a construction site?
OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51 requires toilets for employees on construction sites: at least 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers. The rule applies unless crews have transportation to nearby toilets.
Can I keep a porta potty for 3 days on a job?
A 3-day job can be priced as an event rental instead of a full 28-day cycle. Tell dispatch your exact dates.
Can I move the unit to a different spot on the job?
Your crew can slide an empty unit a few feet. For moves across the lot or to another site, call dispatch; a relocation is $50.
Do I need a porta potty for a roofing job?
Roofing crews on homes are covered by the same OSHA toilet rule unless they have access to a restroom. Many Temple homeowners do not want crews inside, so a unit in the driveway is common.
Can you deliver to several job sites in one day?
We deliver to multiple sites in one day and put them on one account. Send a list of addresses and start dates.
Placement and site access
How much space does a porta potty need?
A standard unit needs a 4-by-4-foot flat spot plus 3 feet in front of the door. An accessible unit needs about 6-by-6 feet plus 5 feet in front.
Can a porta potty go on grass?
A porta potty can sit on dry, firm grass. After heavy rain, set it on gravel or pavement so it stays level.
Can a porta potty sit on the street?
Street and sidewalk placement in Temple generally needs city approval. Driveways, yards and private lots do not.
Will the delivery truck damage my lawn?
Drivers stay on driveways and firm ground and hand-cart units across lawns when needed. After heavy rain, we place the unit on a hard surface instead of crossing soft grass.
What if there is a locked gate?
Share the gate code or leave the gate unlocked on delivery and service days. Missed service because of a locked gate may be billed as a trip charge.
Do I need to be home when you pick up the unit?
No one needs to be home for pickup. Leave access open, and the driver texts when the unit is removed.
Policies
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel or reschedule more than 48 hours before delivery at no charge. Cancellations within 48 hours may be charged the delivery portion. Full details are in our rental terms.
What happens if the unit is stolen or damaged?
Report it right away. Lost or stolen units, fire and vandalism are billed at replacement or repair cost under our rental terms. Gated, lit sites rarely have problems.
Are you a broker or do you own the units?
Carl Rental Works owns and services its own units from the yard at 411 S 31st St in Temple. We do not resell other companies' equipment.
How do I end a job-site rental?
Call or text dispatch with the address and the last day you need the unit. Billing stops on the pickup date.
